Textured and hand-painted canvases are the most tactile thing on a wall and the least forgiving of a badly lit corner.
Screen tone versus room tone
Neutral palettes shift most between a screen and a room. Warm bulbs push a beige canvas towards yellow; cool daylight pushes it grey. Look at the wall at the time of day you use the room.
Light across, not at
Texture reads when light crosses it at an angle. A canvas lit flat from the front loses the relief that made you buy it.
Dusting
A dry, soft brush along the texture — never a damp cloth, which drags pigment out of the raised edges.
Humidity and sunlight
Keep canvases off walls that get monsoon damp and out of direct afternoon sun. Both fade the surface and warp a stretcher frame over a season.

Our canvases are listed by finished size in inches including the frame. Mark that rectangle on the wall with tape before ordering.
